Learning to relax your mind isn't the easiest of tasks. We all lead busy lives, add to that a culture of being connected digitally 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and sometimes it's hard to switch off.
If you're finding it difficult to de-stress, here we give you some tips, tricks & gift ideas - to help bring a little peace and tranquility back into your life...
Sometimes we're so busy we forget about the basics. Something as simple as controlling your breathing can actually bring calm back into your life.
When we're stressed out we know that our heart rate increases, as does our blood pressure and rate of breathing. Learning to control your breathing helps to reverse all of those, which reduces your tension and your stress levels. (We've tried it out and it does work, you just have to remember to give yourself a few minutes off, to try it out)
Take some time out. Have a gentle massage or treat yourself to a warm bath, or try pampering yourself with a product that makes you feel good about yourself again. Our all-natural green clay face mask contains certified organic matcha tea which is loaded with antioxidants, along with lemon & basil essential oils to soothe blemishes and brighten your skin. Allowing yourself the time to pamper and preen yourself, is a great way to relax and unwind.
Take a walk in your garden, a local park or any green space, and concentrate your thoughts on your natural surroundings. Look all around you, takes in the wonderful sounds, smells and sights. Ecotherapy as it's known, has been found to reduce anxiety and stress, and let's face it, who doesn't love a walk in the park?!
Yoga combines a few of the topics we've mentioned here including controlled breathing and physical poses to help reduce stress. There are lots of online classes to choose from too, so you don't even need to leave your home to do it. Our calm balm is super popular with yoga fanatics (and anyone with way too many things on their mind for that matter) as it contains Chamomile, Rosemary and Lavendar to soothe away the stresses of your day. Just apply it to your wrists and temples and breathe deeply to calm your mind.
Listen to some relaxing music, close your eyes and think of a happy place that takes you away from the stress you're feeling. Creating positive pictures in your mind is a great way to calm you down. Giving yourself some headspace can really work wonders and have a positive effect on the way you're feeling, you just need to take a step back and give yourself some time to do it.
